Over the past two decades, IndyEast partners have worked to restore prosperity after decades of disinvestment, job loss, and population decline. Through leadership from John Boner Neighborhood Centers, Edna Martin Christian Center, Southeast Community Services, and a network of committed partners, our neighborhoods have leveraged public, private, and philanthropic investments to deliver visible, lasting change. Landmark initiatives such as the Super Bowl Legacy Project and the IndyEast Promise Zone mobilized nearly $400 million in combined investments, expanding housing opportunities, improving infrastructure, and strengthening resident engagement and organizational capacity. Building on that foundation, the IEMD represents the next evolution of this work: A bold, place-based initiative designed to strengthen communities, stabilize families, and create equitable pathways to economic mobility.
